Founded three years ago in Orvieto by Dominga, Marta and Enrica Cotarella, together with Ruggero Parrotto, the aim of the Cotarella Foundation is to make a positive impact on people's lives, starting from their relationship with food.
In 2021 the Cotarella family, already owners of a renowned winegrowing business in Viterbo, opened Fattoria Tellus, an educational farming project designed to support young people and promote a healthy lifestyle with a focus on food and nature. While Fattoria Tellus remains the focus for most of the foundation's activities, the organisation is also committed to promoting education about food, diet and the prevention of eating disorders among all age groups.
The Cotarella Foundation organises a wide range of activities, which are all about rediscovering nature, our relationship with the land and local traditions. Its work ranges from educational programmes aimed mainly at children, to the promotion of social studies in collaboration with universities, hospitals, schools, associations and businesses. A noteworthy project is "Experiential Residences", which are spaces designed to welcome anyone who wants to rediscover a more harmonious relationship with themselves, their food and the environment. The project is combined with a free counselling service to offer early support to anyone suffering from an eating disorder.
