Monastero di Cortona is in the homonymous town – a location rich in art, history and culture, that represents the classic Tuscan lifestyle. Dating back to the 15th century, the original building of the hotel has been completely renovated to be transformed into an elegant boutique hotel of 30 rooms and 6 suites.
The original monastery structure can be still perceived in the layout of the spaces, in the beamed or vaulted ceilings, and in the frescoes that have been restored. All interiors have been custom made by local craftsmen in a classic-modern style that harmoniously merges with the architecture of the building.
The ancient friars’ refectory is now home of Gli Affreschi Restaurant. Here, the Chef proposes a contemporary style of cooking enhancing the territory to be accompanied with around 300 labels, perfect to enhance the dining experience. The Bar is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a selection of sophisticated drinks.
The 18th century oldest roman water cistern has been transformed into a suggestive spa, Bagni di Bacco, with heated pool, massage rooms, sauna and steambath. The ancient orchard is now a garden with a pool and an amazing view over the Val di Chiana.
