The Benedictine Monastery was built in 1444 at the foot of the Sacred Convent of Saint Francis and over time a settlement grew, creating a small village. After 6 centuries, the Borgo has been brought back to life with the help of expert master artisans, and you can now rediscover the “sense memories” while enjoying a breathtaking view from dawn to sunset.
Twelve rooms, each one defined by décor and strong aesthetic details retrieved from the Monastery and its building materials. All of this is in a spirit of great respect for environmental sustainability.
Borgo Antichi Orti is home to Re Tartù agli Orti, a gourmet restaurant that offers genuine cuisine, focused on seasonality and constantly exploring new flavours. The restaurant's culinary tradition is dedicated to truffles, a precious gem used to create unique and refined dishes.
The Borgo also includes an educational farm and 650 square metres equipped for weddings - even with exclusive use of the entire Borgo - and events, conferences and corporate team building, as well as for activities in contact with nature. In the Lab Botanico, an alchemical-themed cocktail bar where you can enjoy drinks crafted from herbs grown in the Borgo's hortuli.
