"Oblong" is a shape that not only represents the identities of the gallery's founders, but is also intended to portray the cultures of Italy and the Emirates as they meet and find harmony through art.
The name itself tells the story and mission of Oblong Contemporary Gallery, inaugurated in 2019 in Pietrasanta, nicknamed “Little Athens”, a meeting point for artists set between the splendid Ligurian riviera and the majestic Apuan Alps, famous for their Carrara marble quarries. The Gallery's goal is to become a hub for cultural growth and to promote a creative exchange with Dubai, home to its sister site.
Over the years, Oblong has had the honour of supporting internationally renowned artists and emerging young talents. All the works displayed at the Gallery share a common theme of persona discovery and the inner self, and are authentic expressions of beauty in all its forms. The Gallery is not only an exhibition space but also a place for dialogue and reflection, where art becomes a bridge between different cultures.
