Borgo Scopeto Wine & Country Relais is enveloped by the majestic beauty of the rolling hills of Chianti, overlooking Siena with a breathtaking view. In this corner of paradise dating to the 14th century, guests can enjoy the view of the Torre del Mangia and the Campanile del Duomo, with vineyards and olive groves stretching as far as the eye can see, as well as the splendid holm oak woods where the erica scoparia or green heather still grows today - a shrub once used to make brooms, hence the name Borgo Scopeto.
The Relais is a finely restored typical Tuscan estate, inhabited for five centuries by the illustrious Sienese dynasty of the Sozzini. It maintains an authentic atmosphere of the past, with design furnishings in a wine & country style. There are 52 elegant rooms, suites and villas, each unique, and equipped with the most modern comforts. The estate has an organic vegetable garden, an apiary, an orchard, fields of lavender and helichrysum, a roccolo or 18th century garden of dwarf oaks, two swimming pools, and a spa with wellness centre and its own cosmetic line, where you can relax in contact with nature. It offers upscale cuisine, with a bistro-style lunch menu and a refined dinner selection, in a philosophy of contemporary Tuscan cuisine that favours high quality and local products with a controlled supply chain.
Wine is at the centre of the experiences offered at Borgo Scopeto, with an enoteca and wine academy inside the hotel where guests can taste wines by the glass from the 4 estate wineries, accompanied by a selection of cured meats and cheeses from local producers, as well as attending daily wine lessons and special master classes.
