The Andrea Bocelli Foundation was created by the famous Italian tenor and his family to "build a world better than how we found it and give back all the good things we have received, so that the least fortunate or most vulnerable members of our society can live a life full of opportunities and beauty".
The ABF is currently working on two main intervention programmes: Challenges and Break the Barriers.
The first project is linked to scientific research, technology and social innovation, while the second aims to support and promote projects to benefit the most vulnerable sections of the population in Italy and in developing countries, especially Haiti. Break the Barriers supports a number of community development projects, and has also made a significant contribution to national and global emergencies, from the Covid-19 pandemic to the provision of aid for the people of Ukraine and Syria and to the Italian regions hit by the recent flooding.
Recently, the programme also opened an 0-11 education hub in Sforzacosta (Macerata), which also saw the involvement of NERO Lifestyle. The aim of the centre is to offer a centre for social and cultural development in support of the people affected by the earthquake in 2016.
